CULTURAL ASIAN GAMES

Cultural Asian games are not a competition. This is some kind of locomotive that moves the idea of games and approaches the main sport events. VII winter Asian games are a good chance to represent to the international community the modern Kazakhstan, our successes in sport sphere. Cultural Asian games will be the project of advance of Kazakh cultural legacy and modern culture of Kazakhstan and Asia in general.

Cultural Asian games will be the project of advance of Kazakh cultural legacy and modern culture of Kazakhstan and Asia in general.

Culture and sport are connected with each other. At V Olympic games they first organized the art contest. First gold medal in terms of cultural program of Stockholm Olympics was given to “Ode to sport” poem.

Authors of the poem were Frenchman G. Khokhrod and German man M. Eshbakh. These were pseudonyms. The real author was Pier de Coubertin that wanted to make closer French and German peoples under conditions of growing war threat.

The tradition to unite art and sport transformed to “Cultural Olympics” that starting with “Athens 2004″ is held in compulsory order in the capital of Olympics. Astana for the first time offers to expand complex of additional events till the scales of full project named Cultural Asian games.

Cultural Asian games is directed at organization of leisure of official delegacies and representatives of NOCs, sportsmen of member-states of Asian games, domestic foreign journalists, citizens and guests of Astana.

Festival of ice sculptures

The main ice city “Ice fire” will be located at the square near monument “Kazakh el Festive events of “Cultural Asiada” are planned to be equally distributed in the territory of the city to involve the maximum quantity of people in the project. Each athlete, citizen and guest must feel himself as a part of the games. That is why ice cities will be built in all big parks of the city.

Music will not stop in these cities. It is here where Kazakhstan sculpture makers will show their mastership; they will make sculptures of ice and snow dedicated to sport and national theme.

The central part of the general composition of the main ice city is dedicated to fire of Asian games. Around large colored firer there will be placed Saks symbols and figures of warriors holding ancient action that gives them energy and power of ancestors necessary for victory. The project is not static ice installation, and it represents interactive game attraction where visitors can skate, spend time in cafes.

Organizers will do their best to make cold ice leave warm memories about the games.

Head of the project is Deserved Figure of Kazakhstan, artists and sculpture maker Kamil Mullashev.

Festival of documental and feature film about sport

The aim of the festival is to represent movie art of Asia that makes popular sport thematic (films about sportsmen, national kinds of sport, healthy life style) irrespective of the style. Participants of the festival are all the states of Asia that enter OCA. Festival is non-contest; its program will include films of 2006-2010 production.

Program of the festival:

- game full-meter films;

- game short-meter film;

- documental films;

- animation films;

- “Gold fund of films about sport”.

Organizers of the festival are voluntary union in the form of association - Independent producer center “Skif”.

Place of conduction: New Movie-concert Hall.

Festival of circus art

Modern circus is incredible combination of dramatic art and street performance, brave experimentation, original costumes, magic lights and charming music. But the experienced spectator will surely find in his synthesis of orient and western styles of circus art the elements that generated in Asian circus.

In terms of he games it is planed to hold in the capital festive performances of circus artists of Almaty and Astana with special program dedicated to Asiada.

Photo-exhibition

Installation is the exhibition of photographers of Asia with pictures on sport thematic.

The separated block of exhibition is for national kind of sport. Pictures will represent 45 members -states of Asian games. Each state will tell about unique national kinds of sport: Arabs has camel race, Japanese - sumo and kendo, Kazakhstan - kokpar.

The main theme of pictures is national kinds of sport of each member-state of Asiada.

Place of conduction: exhibition hall of Independence Palace.

Fair of sport goods and souvenir

The producers of sport goods and souvenirs are represented exhibition hall of 3500 sq.m. with set exhibition equipment. There are conference-hall and talk-halls for the solemn opening and trade conferences.

The task of the fair is to gather under one roof the best producers that can satisfy different needs of city amateurs of sport.

Place of conduction: EXPO center “Korme”.

Festival of music and dance “Voice of Astana”

Show-project is a number of grand concerts taken during winter Asian games. In terms of this project it is foreseen performances of leading music collectives of classic music, opera, ballet, stars of modern stage of Asia.

Stages of the festival: “Congress-hall”, “Shabyt”, Palace of Peace and Concord.

Date: 29.01.2011 - 05.02.2011.

In terms of the festival it is planned to hold three great and unique projects:

-Concert of classic music and opera singing;

-Concert of pop-singers of member-states of the games «ASIA STARS SESSION»;

-Show-concert of modern choreography in hip-hop style with participation of the best dancing teams of Asia.

High fashion week “Asian style”

The project promotes formation of fashion industry in Asia, exchange of experience of member-states of Asian games, propaganda and advance of professional activity of designers and modelers, constructive cooperation between designers and producers of clothes. On the basis of the show hey will form concentrated image of the last tendencies of international fashion and state of modern market of textile and light industry of the state and Asian continent in general.

Each state will be represented in the project by its designer with the collection of clothes. Along with foreign modelers it is foreseen participation of such famous Kazakh modelers as: Kuralay Nurkadilova, Balnur Asanova, Aida Kaumenova, Aigul Kasymova and others.

Organizer of the Week is “Fashion House Andres”.

Exhibition of painting art

The exhibition will be conducted in several trends: “Painting”, “Sculpture”, and “Graphics”. Expert council will select works of outstanding artists and sculptures makers from the fund of museums whose art projects are represented in the exhibition.

Exhibition will take place in exhibition hall of Independence Palace.

Festival of a nomadic civilization «Millennium around Astana»

Festival represents national traditions and customs of Kazakh people. In the center of the hall of Independence Palace there will be placed stage ground. Here will be represented different programs showing traditions and customs of Kazakh people. These are mass theatrical performances, aitys, kyz uzaty, neke kiyar, besikke saly, tusau keser, toybastar, shashy bata, etc. The concert program will include folk’s songs. At the stage they will place the following expositions: kiiz basu, zhun sabau, keli tyuyu,urshyk iiru, kymyz sapyru, korik basu.

Besides, the area of the hall will be decorated with thematic yurts dedicated to different episodes of nomads’ life. Yurts of a hunter, white yurt for just-married, yurt with national clothes and yurt for guests where they will be treated with national meals.

Culture-entertainment park

The project is directed at expansion of entertainment program “Cultural Asiada”. It will allow athletes, representatives of official delegations, citizens and guests of the capital to spend their spare time. At the scaled ground of Tennis center there will be opened improvisation park of entertainments, represented cuisines of best restaurants of the city, formed recreation zones. Besides, the participants will be offered horse walks, photo-stages and many other things in the sphere of mass entertainment.

One of the central events in cultural-entertainment park will be the project “Live Game”. Any spectator at the event will be able to see all the competitions live at the screens located in the upper area of Tennis center. So, the fans will be able to watch the main events of Asiada not leaving entertainment park due to new technologies.
