Almaty Directorate

For the efficient preparation for the VII Asian Winter Games 2011, in November 2006, the Akimat of Almaty City established the SCE “Directorate of the VII Winter Asian Games 2011″, for coordination of the municipal services and agencies of Almaty City. In this regard, within the preparation for the Asian Games, according to the resolution of the Akim of Almaty, Mr. A.S. Yessimov, the working group was established with the participation of all municipal agencies.

The Almaty Directorate has the administrative department, the marketing department, the cultural department and the public relations department. The directorate is provided with the necessary logistical base. The leading specialists in the organization of sports events and cultural programs are currently working in the directorate.

Apart from the preparation work for the Asian Games, the directorate conducts active work on popularization of the idea of the Asiada-2011 amongst the citizens of Almaty City.
