ANNOUNCEMENT OF

Republican Competition of

Children Fine and Applied Arts “Asian Games as viewed by children”,

dedicated to the 7-th Asian Winter Games 2011

JSC “Executive Direction of the Organizing Committee of the 7-th Winter Asian Games 2011 " together with SCCE “Utemisov Palace of Schoolchildren” of Astana Administration of Education to facilitate development and promotion of children's artistic creativity, attraction of children for active participation in cultural and sporting events of the Asian Games, identification of gifted children and mentors, announces the Republican competition of children's Fine art and Applied art "Asian Games as viewed by children" dedicated to the 7 th Winter Asian Games 2011.

Students of secondary schools, lyceums, high schools, between the ages of  6 and 12, may participate in the republican contest "Asian Games as viewed by children".

The competition is held in the following categories

• best picture;
• best collage;
• best souvenir.

Works performed in a variety of genres, techniques and materials, made of beads, clay, salt dough, paper, fabric, leather, natural material, etc., suitable for display in the following formats will be accepted to the competition:

• pictures, decorated in a mout, format not less than A3;
• collages - A1 size, solid foundation;
• Souvenirs - an arbitrary size.

Works can be both individual and collective. Works done in low artistic level and copies are not permitted.

The competition period is from second half of May till November 2010, in 3 stages:

• The first stage - preparatory (May - September 2010). On the basis of regional education departments, education departments of Almaty, Astana, where the best works are defined (no more than 3 works in each nomination) and directed to participation in the second stage of the Competition no later than October 20, 2010.
• The second stage - Preliminary (from October 20 to 25, 2010). Competition Commission determines the winners, who are invited to Astana at the award ceremony.
• The third stage - Final. In November 12, 2010 Awards Ceremony is held.

Entries are accepted in the period from October 1 to 20, 2010 at the following address: Astana, Bukeikhan Street, 1 SCCE “Utemisov Palace of Schoolchildren”, marked "Asian Games as viewed by children".

The organizers of the first phase of the competition are local executive bodies, the final phase – JSC “ Executive Direction of the Organizing Committee of the 7-th Asian Winter Games 2011 "and SCCE “Utemisov Palace of Schoolchildren” of Astana Administration of Education.

Winner is awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
