Almaty Symbols
The emblem of Almaty was approved in July 1993. The author of the composition of Almaty emblem is an artist Sh.O. Niyazbekov.
The emblem of Almaty includes the following artistic and decorative elements:
- The background of the emblem is in blue color - the color of the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The circle is framed by two decorative linear ribbons and nests of uyuk birds, i.e. elements of shanyrak. On the gold background there is a Kazakh ornament in red around the circle, which is intertwined with the fonts in the word "Almaty".
In the heart of the emblem there is a bunch of apple flowers, which are kept in the mouth of the snow leopard, symbolizing the main content of the emblem, and at the very top of the circle there is a silhouette of the mountains.
The emblem of the city is a symbol of political, economic and natural factors of Almaty.
